A Malleefowl mound.

The male Malleefowl is the primary tender of the mound, moving soil around to regulate the temperature for the eggs within it.

The female Malleefowl, if allowed by the male, lays eggs in the mound and may help scratching the soil around.

Later, the Malleefowl hatchlings dig themselves out and run off, fending for themselves from day one.
